This is not your typical American Chinese food. Items were fresh, flavorful, and came out perfectly… I would like to go here again and try something else on the menu. This appears to be authentic Mongolian cuisine to the best of my knowledge - but there were things I didn’t care for because of MY preferences. I will just state the facts and those reading this must realize that my taste buds are not yours. I love lamb, but I believe we were eating sheep. Slightly different taste and fat content that we weren’t prepared for, and did not prefer. One of the items had more ginger flavor than our table liked, yet the dumplings were delicious. The house soup was good as is, but then we realized that they had almost a buffet of things to “soup up” the soup, e.g. garlic, soy sauce, cilantro, chili oil, etc.

The milk tea is interesting. Trying to find the right things to pair with it though. Everything else on the menu here may not pair well with the milk tea, but They're still good in it of themselves. I think I'd come back to try to ribs, and see how that's like. They look interesting!

We tried Mongolian food for the first time, ordering the grilled beef steak, a beef pie, and salad combo (cucumber, seaweed, and potato) - Grilled Beef steak came plain and dry, letting you dip it in the sauce. - Beef pie reminded me of a pupusa, a little oily for my taste, but still really flavorful. - Salad combo was a lifesaver; having those three fresh sides perfectly balanced out the heavy beef. The atmosphere was great, with massive wall paintings of green plains, blue skies, and traditional Mongolian homes. But honestly, the staff stole the show. They were incredibly friendly, starting us off with homemade yogurt and sending us off with a gift of Mongolian-style beef jerky. Highly recommend giving this place a shot. We'll definitely be back!

We went for an early Mother’s Day celebration! Been wanting to try out Mongolian Pie and it did not disappoint! Loved the period decor! Everything was bright and festive. Service was good. Everything was delicious, but my favorites were the five grain steamed dumplings, stewed lamb and the house special fish with pickled cabbage soup. Mongolian pie, cucumbers and the Mongolian yogurt was really good too! They even have complimentary lamb broth and a sauce condiment bar. We will definitely be back!

So my girlfriend and I wanted to grab a quick bite before a movie in Monterey Park, and we stumbled into Mongolian Home Made Pie. Gotta be honest—I had no clue what I was looking at on the menu. Like, at all. I was kinda worried there'd be a language barrier or I'd order something way off. There's a waiter was super chill and helpful. He could tell we were lost and just walked us through their popular dishes on the menu. Great manner, no rushing,just good vibes.we ordered exactly what we should have. We started with the Mongolian homemade pie, which was absolutely delicious—beef with onions, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Then we tried the lamb shaomai, and wow, that was also amazing. Every bite was satisfying. The whole experience turned out to be way better than I expected. No stress, no confusion—just good food and great service. We left full, happy, and made it to our movie right on time. I will definitely come back and visit again. If it's your first time, don't hesitate to ask the staff for help. They'll take good care of you.
